Midwest Awards

The Midwest has been giving out annual awards, some since 1970. Janice Prociw is the current awards committee chairman for our region and has done a great job taking care of the awards each year. Some awards are voted on by the people, some by the judges, and some based on skiing performances. Congratulations to all our winners and check below for a description of each award and a link to the history of past and winners.

  • Correct Craft Ski Nautique Trophy Receipents-these are giving to the highest overall NOPS score at the regional championships in divisions Boys 1-3 or Girls 1-3.
  • Jeff McCullough Scholarship Award Winners-The Jeff McCulluough Award is a $500 scholarship from the parents of Jeff McCullough who died of cancer in 1997. The award is given to the skier in Boys 1-3, Girls 1-3 with the highest NOPS points of the opposite sex from the correctcraft winner above. For example, if a skier in girls 3 wins the correct craft award then the Boy 1-3 with the highest overall NOPS receives this award.
  • Mary Jo Power Award Recipients-This award goes to an official who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in judging, driving, scoring, tournament directing, safety, or techinical.
  • Tommy Dorwin Award Recipients-The oldest of our awards, since 1970 this award goes to a volunteer who has also gone above and beyond the normal realm of work. One whos efforts helped make the season or tournament a successfull one not necasarily through officiating.
