The Midwest has been giving out annual awards, some since 1970. Janice Prociw is the current awards committee chairman for our region and has done a great job taking care of the awards each year. Some awards are voted on by the people, some by the judges, and some based on skiing performances. • Correct Craft Ski Nautique Trophy Receipents-these are giving to the highest overall NOPS score at the regional championships in divisions Boys 1-3 or Girls 1-3.
• Jeff McCullough Scholarship Award Winners-The Jeff McCulluough Award is a $500 scholarship from the parents of Jeff McCullough who died of cancer in 1997. The award is given to the skier in Boys 1-3, Girls 1-3 with the highest NOPS points of the opposite sex from the correctcraft winner above. For example, if a skier in girls 3 wins the correct craft award then the Boy 1-3 with the highest overall NOPS receives this award.
• Mary Jo Power Award Recipients-This award goes to an official who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in judging, driving, scoring, tournament directing, safety, or techinical.
• Tommy Dorwin Award Recipients-The oldest of our awards, since 1970 this award goes to a volunteer who has also gone above and beyond the normal realm of work. One whos efforts helped make the season or tournament a successfull one not necasarily through officiating.
